We often hear somebody told us: “I am doing this for YOU!” or “I meant well,
especially heard from our parents. When we heard this words that it meant they did
something we didn’t like or agree. As I heard something which my parents did for me
without my agreement, my first reaction was angry and reject the decision as possible as I can . After some time, however, I will rethink the whole thing and search reasons why my parents did the thing for me. In addition, I also will ask my parents to
discuss with me first if they want to do something for me next time.
Take an example, when I was a junior high student, my father forced me to sweep streets where near I live at morning in weekends. At the beginning, I was reluctant to sweep streets.
Because I wanted to have more time to sleep, I also thought why should I go to clean the
garbage which was others made. After several times, however, I found it was not really bad.
I can keep regular hours even in the weekend. And, when I swept streets, seeing the clean
streets, I felt joyful. Others would felt joyful too while they saw streets, I thought. Therefore,
I rethought the thing my father asked me to do and realized my father’s motive. So, when we
meet someone asked us to do something we don’t want to do, we should calm down and rethink requests again first. There must have some reasons why they want us do that.

回覆刪除Parents nowadays tend to pave the way for their children. Extra curriculum filled young kids’ schedule. “To be adult is great.” an innocent voice articulated from the six-year-old boy, who was doing his homework. “Why should I do so much homework?” He spoke loudly in his mind. In parents’ view, studying hard is important for children. Students could benefit from studying hard in schooling. Regretting for not learning well, parents anticipate that children could have a better future. However, young kids have different perceptive about learning with parents. Studying all day in a cubicle is boring. They like to learn from real life. Traveling, surfing on the internet, being with friends are channels that young kids get knowledge. Conflict was inevitable between kids and parents.
回覆刪除Sweeping streets was a meaningful activity that needs great persistence. Big sun and strange eyesight are the reasons keeping people from sweeping streets. The author deserved a big hand. As an elementary teacher, studying in teachers’ college was reluctant. In public opinion, being a teacher is top job in farmer circle. After a decade, the reason is clear. However, for an ambitious youth, being a teacher as his career is ashamed. In his deep mind, big dream pushed the boy to reject the farmer’s order. Dilemma annoyed him. Finally, the reality is the financial condition that only allows the ambitious kids to be a teacher.
Be honest, when I was in elementary school, my dream was to be a teacher. Although, I don’t want to be a teacher now, I also think being a teacher is a good job. I don’t realize what is the youth’s ambition, however, I think that being a teacher is not shame. Maybe he can collect some information and learn some skills for the career which he is long for in advance. Until he is settled, he can pursue his own dream.
回覆刪除To be an elementary teacher is good, especially when I saw my elementary teacher ate instant beef noodles with her sons at break twenty years ago. The dream is the present progress in this in-service program. However, that was very difficult for me to major in English in that circumstance. They always said that being a teacher is terrific job and could be paid good salary.
